Winter Orange Cocktail Recipe

A spicy non-alcoholic cocktail featuring fresh orange juice and cinnamon syrup.

Recipe Ingredients

Cinnamon syrup

  • 1/3 cup water
  • 1/3 cup SPAR maple flavoured syrup
  • 3 sprigs SPAR Freshline rosemary
  • 4 cinnamon sticks

For the drink

  • 4 SPAR Freshline orange slices
  • 4 teaspoons SPAR white sugar
  • 1/4 cup freshly squeezed, orange juice, warmed 
  • 2 SPAR Freshline DELIcious Spicy Orange shots
  • 3 tablespoons cinnamon syrup
  • Cinnamon stick & SPAR Freshline rosemary to garnish

Recipe Method

  1. In a medium pot bring the water, maple syrup, rosemary and cinnamon sticks to a boil.
  2. Boil for 5 minutes then remove from the heat.
  3. Set aside to cool.
  4. To make the brûléed oranges: sprinkle one side of each orange slice with sugar.
  5. Heat a small non-stick frying pan over a medium-high heat.
  6. Place the orange slices, sugar side down, in the pan and sear for 2-3 minutes until lightly caramelised.
  7. Remove from pan and set aside to cool.
  8. In a cocktail shaker combine the orange juice, spicy orange shots and 3 tablespoons of the cinnamon syrup.
  9. Shake to combine and strain into a glass.
  10.  Garnish with a cinnamon stick, rosemary and a brûléed orange slice.
