Chakalaka Beef Stroganoff Recipe

A creamy, mildy spicy beef dish given a lift with the addition of chakalaka.

Recipe Ingredients

  • ½ medium onion, chopped
  • ¼ medium green pepper, chopped
  • 600 g beef stroganoff strips
  • 410 g can SPAR Mild and Spicy Chakalaka
  • 200 ml SPAR Cream
  • 2 packets SPAR Instant noodles - mushroom flavour

Recipe Method

1. Saute the onion and green pepper in a pot sprayed with non-stick spray.
2. Add the beef and fry until lightly browned all over.
3. Stir in the chakalaka and simmer with lid on for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
4. Meanwhile, cook the noodles according to pack instructions. Keep hot.
5. Stir the cream into the beef and heat through. Serve immediately on a bed of noodles.

Hints & Tips

  • Substitute Chakalaka for a can of creamed mushrooms
  • Sprinkle with chopped fresh dhania for serving
