Go Bananas Mini Loaves Recipe

Warm banana bread, straight from the oven. Yum Yum! You will go bananas over this easy recipe. A great one for kids to make, with help from Mom.

Makes 6 mini loaves or one big loaf

Recipe Ingredients

  • 3 - 4 SPAR Freshline Bananas (about 250 ml)
  • 120g SPAR Butter
  • 150g SPAR Sugar
  • 2 SPAR Eggs, beaten
  • 15ml SPAR lemon juice
  • 120 g SPAR Wheat Cake Flour
  • 120 g SPAR Brown Bread Flour
  • 2ml SPAR Salt
  • 5ml SPAR Bicarbonate of Soda
  • 30ml SPAR Milk

Recipe Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C.
  2. Mash the bananas with a fork.
  3. With the help of an adult, cream the butter and sugar and beat in the eggs one at a time.
  4. Add the mashed banana pulp and lemon juice.
  5. Sift the dry ingredients together and stir into the creamed mixture alternately with the milk.
  6. Turn the batter into 6 greased mini loaf tins or 1 greased loaf tin and bake for 45 minutes to 1 hour or until cooked through. 

Hints & Tips

To cream the butter and sugar means to mix it with an electric mixer or wooden spoon until it is soft and white and looks like whipped cream.
