Deep-Pan Pizza Recipe

With this versatile easy-to-prepare base layer, you can top it with absolutely anything you have at hand, for a meal the entire family will love!

Yield: 4 pizzas

Recipe Ingredients

  • 4 large SPAR eggs, beaten
  • 1 litre SPAR plain smooth yoghurt
  • 20 ml SPAR sunflower or canola oil
  • 500 g SPAR cake flour
  • 50 ml baking powder
  • 15 ml salt
  • +-125 ml canned SPAR tomato puree
  • 4 x 5ml dried Italian herbs
  • SPAR grated mozzarella and cheddar cheese

Topping Suggestions

Olives, capers, sliced mushrooms, sweet pepper rings, salami, roast chicken, ham, bacon bits, avocado-pear, savoury cooked beef mince.

Recipe Method

  1. Preheat oven to 180 º C. Grease 4 x 20cm SPAR Good Living cake pans.
  2. Chop/ prepare whatever topping ingredients you have decided on. Set aside.
  3. In a SPAR Good Living 3 litre ceramic mixing bowl, beat the eggs until foamy. Beat in the yoghurt and oil, then blend in the flour, baking powder and salt, mixing to a smooth batter. Pour this mixture between the prepared pans.
  4. Spoon the tomato puree evenly across each base, then sprinkle over the herbs.
  5. Working quickly, place your choice of topping ingredients over and scatter both cheeses on top.
  6. Bake immediately for 30 minutes.
