1. Preheat oven to 180 º C and lightly grease a shallow 25cm tart plate. 2. In a SPAR Good Living 1.5 litre porcelain mixing bowl, pour the milk over the bread and set aside for 5 minutes to soak until soft enough to mash. Stir in all the remaining ingredients. 3. Pour the mixture into the prepared pie dish and bake for 25 - 30 minutes until well risen and attractively browned.
Bake the bread crusts in a tray alongside the tart and leave in the oven even when turned off later - roll or process for the perfect breadcrumbs to store and use for mixing with grated cheese as a crunchy topping for a macaroni cheese dish. Preparation time: 15 minutes Baking time: 30 minutes Recommended wine: Rhine Riesling Recommended accompaniment: a tossed salad if used as a meal
