SPAR recognises that the time for passive involvement is over, and the only viable remedy is to take meaningful action. As a responsible corporate citizen of Southern Africa, we are playing an active role in the fight to END Gender Based Violence.
Physical abuse is a form of Gender Based Violence and an act of causing injury or harm to another person. It can happen to anyone - women, men or children and is never acceptable.
Sexual abuse is a form of Gender Based Violence. Your body is your property, and nobody is allowed to make you do anything you are uncomfortable with. If you do not say yes willingly, then it's not legal.
Psychological abuse is a form of Gender Based Violence. Not all abuse ends in cuts and bruises - insults, threats and shaming can scar an individual for years, resulting in anxiety and depression.
