Chocolate Orange Biscotti Recipe

These deliciously crisp and tangy Biscotti are delicious with a frothy cappucino or a cup of freshly brewed filter coffee.

Recipe Ingredients

  • 2 large eggs
  • 5 ml vanilla essence
  • 1 med orange finely grated rind
  • 30 ml golden syrup
  • 30 ml sunflower oil
  • 240 g cake flour (500 ml)
  • 175 ml castor sugar
  • 3 ml baking powder
  • 1 ml salt
  • 50 g dark chocolate chips (60 ml)

Recipe Method

  1. Preheat oven to 180 C. Grease a large baking tray.
  2. Blend together all the ingredients except chocolate chips in a food processor to a rough dough.
  3. Lastly work in the chocolate chips using your hands bring ingredients together to a stiff smooth dough.
  4. Divide dough in three and shape each on a lightly floured worktop to 20cm long rolls. Place rolls onto baking tray.
  5. Bake for 20 minutes until light brown and has a cracked crust.
  6. Leave to cool to lukewarm. Using a serrated knife cut off 1 cm thick diagonal slices. Lay each slice flat on the baking sheet and bake for 12 minutes turning each slice over halfway through the time.
  7. Cool on a wire rack.
