Recipe Ingredients

  • 1 Chicken drumstick and thigh braai-pack (5 drumsticks and 4 thigh combination)
  • 10 ml steak & chop seasoning
  • 10 ml barbeque spice
  • 10 ml chicken spice
  • 75 ml SPAR Dipping Soy Sauce
  • 250 ml chilli-bite mix

Recipe Method

  1. Combine the seasonings and soy sauce in a plastic storage container with tight-fitting lid.
  2. Brush the chicken pieces over with the marinade, and then leave them all in the container, sealed, in the fridge overnight. Turn the container over a few times during this time to ensure they remain coated with marinade.
  3. Pre-heat oven to 200 ° C. Lightly coat a large baking tray with baking spray.
  4. Roll the chicken pieces in the dry chilli-bite mix powder to coat thoroughly and place them on the prepared baking tray.
  5. Bake for 30 minutes, turning each piece over after 15 minutes.   Serve warm or at room temperature. 

Hints & Tips

The moisture from the chicken will cause the chilli-bite powder to moisten and lose the appearance of powder, so do not be tempted to mix it to a coating batter!
