Pork Sausage and Four Bean Casserole Recipe

Turn a packet of pork sausages into a culinary feast with a few simple ingredients.

Recipe Ingredients

  • 100g Onions
  • 35ml Sunflower Oil   
  • 400ml Water      
  • 50g Red Bell Peppers   
  • 50g Green Bell Peppers    
  • 400g Four Bean Mix (tinned) - SPAR   
  • 3g Veggie Seasoning - Robertsons   
  • 150g Chutney Fruit (mild) - SPAR   
  • 5g Whole Garlic     
  • 150g Tomatoes Diced - SPAR   
  • 35g Brown Onion Soup – SPAR   
  • 375g  SPAR Pork Sausage Onion & Herb – SPAR

Recipe Method

  1. Defrost the sausages.
  2. Heat the oil in a large frying pan and fry the sausages according to the package instructions, remove from the pan.
  3. Allow to cool and slice into bite sized pieces.
  4. Peel and dice the onions, deseed and dice the peppers, place the onions and peppers into the pan that the sausages were fried and cook until soft.
  5. Peel and finely chop the garlic and add to the pan, fry for a further minute.
  6. Add the diced tomatoes, chutney and veggie spice to the pan.
  7. Add 300ml of the water and the sausages back to the pan and bring to the boil.
  8. Mix the soup powder with the 100ml of remaining water and add to the pan, simmer for 3 minutes on a low heat. 
  9. Drain the beans and add to the pan, simmer for a further 5 minutes.
  10. Serve with rice, mash or pap.
