Horlicks and Honey Mini Muffins Recipe

Horlicks and honey is a great flavour combination and these muffins make the most of it. Serve as breakfast, with morning tea or in a school lunch box - they're so versatile!

Recipe Ingredients

  • 240 g SPAR cake flour (500 ml)
  • 125 ml Horlicks powder
  • 20 ml baking powder
  • Pinch salt
  • 60 ml SPAR white sugar
  • 2 large SPAR eggs
  • 250 ml SPAR milk
  • 60 ml SPAR sunflower oil
  • 5 ml vanilla essence
  • 60 ml runny honey

Recipe Method

  1. Preheat oven to 190 ºC with oven shelf in centre position. Lightly coat 2 x 12-Cup silicone mini muffin pans with non-stick cooking spray.
  2. Combine flour, Horlicks, baking powder, salt and sugar in a 1.5 litre SPAR GOOD LIVING Super White Porcelain mixing bowl.
  3. Warm the milk, oil, essence and honey together in a suitable jug in the microwave oven for 1 minute on 100% Power or in a small saucepan on the stove.
  4. Add in the beaten egg, and pour this mixture onto the dry ingredients, mixing gently with a wooden spoon until smooth.
  5. Pour mixture into prepared mini-muffin pans and bake for 12 minutes.

Hints & Tips

  • You may omit the Horlicks and honey, and increase the sugar to 125 ml. Then add in 40 ml SPAR instant coffee granules to the warm milk.
  • Stir in 50g roasted and finely chopped hazelnuts.
  • Support these pans on a baking tray when placing in the oven.
