Avocado and Shrimp Tortilla Wrap Recipe

Avocado and shrimp go together like Beyoncé and Jay Z. This easy wrap recipe with it's piquant, yoghurt based sauce is both healthy and delicious.

Recipe Ingredients

  • 60ml light mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon tomato sauce
  • ¼ cup plain yoghurt
  • 1 dash tabasco sauce
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • salt and ground black pepper, to taste
  • 2 cups of cooked shrimp
  • 1 small head of lettuce,finely chopped 
  • 4 whole-wheat tortilla wraps
  • 1 ripe avocado,peeled, pitted and cut into wedges

Recipe Method

  1. Mix mayonnaise, tomato sauce, yoghurt, lemon juice and Tabasco sauce in a bowl.
  2. Season the sauce with salt and ground black pepper, to taste. Add the cooked shrimp and mix well.
  3. Place the shrimp mixture in the fridge and allow them to marinade in the sauce for half an hour.
  4.  Heat a pan and quickly reheat and crisp the tortilla wraps on either side.
  5.  Fill the wrap with shredded lettuce and the shrimp filling.
  6. Top with the avocado slices.
  7. Fold tortillas at one end to enclose filling, roll up and serve.
