Hot Cross Bun Bread and Butter Pudding Recipe

A luxurious bread and butter pudding using chocolate hot cross buns, fresh cream and vanilla.

Recipe Ingredients

  • 12 SPAR Bakery chocolate hot cross buns, sliced in half and each half generously spread with soft butter
  • 4 SPAR eggs
  • 1 ½ cup SPAR milk
  • 250ml fresh cream
  • 50g SPAR sugar
  • 15ml vanilla essence
  • Pinch of salt

 To Serve

  • SPAR vanilla ice cream, to serve
  • SPAR Freshline raspberries

Recipe Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C. Place your buttered hot cross buns in a baking dish.
  2. Place the eggs, milk, fresh cream, sugar, vanilla, and salt in a jug and whisk to combine. Pour this mixture around the hot cross buns in the baking dish.
  3. Place the dish into the preheated oven and bake for 30 – 40 minutes or until set.
  4. Serve warm, with scoops of vanilla ice cream and raspberries to garnish.
