Sticky Tomato Braai Sauce Recipe
A fantastically sweet, sticky and slightly spicy sauce that goes with anything. Brush on cooking meat and serve a big bowl on the table at your braai.
Recipe Ingredients
- 2 TBSP SPAR Olive Oil
- 1 SPAR Freshline Onion, finely chopped
- 1 SPAR Freshline Green Pepper, finely chopped
- 2 SPAR Freshline Garlic, finely chopped
- 3 tin of SPAR Tomato & Onion mix
- 2 TBSP SPAR Sugar
- 1 TBSP SPAR Freshline Parsley, chopped
- 1 tsp SPAR Apricot jam
- 1 tsp SPAR Freshline Chilli, finely chopped
- 1 tsp Sriracha sauce
Recipe Method
- Heat a large pan over a medium heat.
- Add olive to heat, then add the onions and slowly cook until soft.
- Then add the peppers and garlic and cook for 2-3 minutes.
- Pour in the tinned tomato & onion mix and stir well.
- Add the sugar, parsley, jam, chilli and sriracha and stir well.
- Lower the heat and cook for 10 minutes or until slightly thicker, stirring often.
- Enjoy while warm.
