Salmon Camembert Quiche

A delicately flavoured, scrumptious savoury tart suitable for many occasions.

Ingredients

  • 250 ml SPAR cake flour
  • 125 g SPAR margarine
  • 250 ml SPAR grated cheddar cheese

For the filling

  • 1 can SPAR Pink Salmon, well drained and broken into chunks (418 g)
  • 1 SPAR Camembert cheese round, thinly sliced into strips
  • 1 bunch SPAR Freshline spring onions, finely chopped
  • 3 large SPAR eggs
  • 250 ml SPAR cream
  • salt and freshly ground black pepper

Method

  1. Combine these ingredients in a food processor until a firm ball of dough forms. Using your fingertips, pat it out into a 23 cm diameter tart plate.
  2. Chill this base while pre-heating the oven to 180 ºC, and preparing the filling ingredients.

For the filling

  1. Loosely but evenly, scatter the salmon chunks, cheese slices and spring onion across the chilled pastry base.
  2. Lightly beat the eggs and cream together, and season generously before pouring this over the filling.
  3. Bake for 40 minutes.
