Pork Belly Ribs and Quick Pickle Slaw Recipe

SPAR Tender & Tasty Pork Belly Ribs cooked to melt-in-the-mouth perfection and served with a side of crunchy fresh pickle slaw.

Recipe Ingredients

  • ½ cup (125ml) SPAR white wine vinegar
  • 4 Tbsp (60ml) SPAR castor sugar
  • 1 Tbsp (15ml) SPAR honey
  • 1 teaspoon (5ml) salt
  • 1 Freshline cucumber, sliced into half moons
  • 2 Freshline Granny Smith apples, sliced into half moons
  • 2 packs of SPAR Tender & Tasty Pork belly Ribs (Sweet and Sticky)

Salad

  • Freshline value salad, shredded
  • 4 Freshline spring onions, sliced
  • 100g Freshline julienne carrots
  • 2 Freshline avocados, sliced (optional)

Recipe Method

  1. Bring the vinegar, sugar, honey and salt to the boil and simmer for a few minutes.
  2. Remove from the heat. Allow to cool and when cold, pour over the cucumbers and apple.
  3. Refrigerate for 2 hours.
  4. Cook the ribs on the braai or in the oven according to the packaging’s instructions.
  5. Toss all the salad ingredients together, top with the pickle and juice and serve.
