Easter Lamb Burger Braai Recipe

Lamb is traditionally served at Easter, and a fun way to enjoy it outdoors over the long weekend, is to host a family Lamb Burger Braai. Provide coals or a gas grill, with a variety of toppings and sauces, for each family member to create their own unique burgers.

Recipe Ingredients

  • Frozen SPAR Lamb Burgers  (6 x 100 g burgers in each pack)
  • SPAR Freshline Jumbo Seeded Hamburger Rolls (in packs of 3)

Chinese Sweet & Sour Sauce

  • Can of  SPAR Pineapple Crush,  
  • 60 ml SPAR Pineapple Fruit Chutney
  • 3 ml SPAR Dipping Soy Sauce
  • 30ml roasted peppers pesto. 

Greek Spinach & Feta

  • SPAR Plain Feta Cheese round
  • 125 ml SPAR Double Cream plain yoghurt
  • 1/2 pack of cooked and cooled SPAR Creamed Spinach
  •  2 cloves of garlic crushed
  • 15 ml finely chopped fresh mint. 

Optional Tray of Toppings

  • Fresh pineapple slices
  • Iceberg lettuce, torn
  • Fried onion rings
  • Avocado slices
  • SPAR Cheddar Slices
  • Fresh tomato slices

Recipe Method

  1. Cook the SPAR lamb burgers as per package instructions.
  2. When the lamb burgers are almost cooked, create the sauces by combining all ingredients and serving in bowls.
  3. Let your guests assemble their own burgers with their choice of sauce and topping.

Hints & Tips

  • To enjoy the Greek Sauce at its best consistency, do not mix the ingredients together far in advance.
