New Uses for Household Items

New Uses for Household Items
Here are some great tips for making use of everyday items in unusual ways.
  • Difficulty opening jars? Try using latex dishwashing gloves. They provide a non-slip grip so you can easily open jars.
  • Remove a splinter using scotch tape. Simply stick the tape over the splinter and then pull it off. It’s an easy painless way to remove a splinter without resorting to tweezers.
  • Restore natural wood furniture using tea bags. Steep 2 teabags in hot water for 10 minutes, then allow to cool. Once cooled, dampen a soft cloth with the tea and then gently wipe down the furniture. This will bring out the wood’s natural colour and shine.
  • Remove oil-based paint from your hands by rubbing them with a little sunflower oil. Then wash with warm soapy water.
  • Get rid of scuff marks on white leather shoes or handbags using metal polish. Rub the scuffs with metal polish, leave to dry, then rub off using a clean cloth.
