Prettiest Snack Wreath
This must be the prettiest way of serving olives, cheese and other snacks as a festive holiday treat. You can customise your wreath using different cheeses and snacks.
Prettiest Snack Wreath
  • Prep Time: 15 minutes  

  • Serves: 6 - 8

Ingredients

Cheese Balls:
  • 125 g SPAR cream cheese at room temperature
  • 125 g SPAR cheddar cheese finely grated
  • 5 ml fresh rosemary, chopped 
  • 10 ml Worcestershire Sauce 
  • 60 ml biltong dust
  • 10 ml paprika
Wreath:
  • 1 bunch fresh rosemary 
  • SPAR olives 
  • SPAR Marksbury Select Emmentaler Cheese
  • SPAR olive oil
  • Crackers to serve

Method

  1. To make the cheese balls: Combine cream cheese, cheddar cheese, rosemary and Worcestershire Sauce in a bowl. Season with salt and pepper. 
  2. Combine biltong powder and paprika in a bowl. 
  3. Form the cheese mixture into small balls. Coat the balls in the biltong mixture by pressing gently press. 
  4. Transfer to a plate. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate until required.
  5. To assemble the wreath: Break rosemary up and arrange it on a plate so that it looks like pine leaves.
  6. Arrange olives, cheese balls and cheese cubes on the wreath to look like ornaments.
  7. Drizzle with olive oil and serve! 
Recommended wine: Enjoy with an easy drinking Olive Brook Pinot Noir / Chardonnay 2012.
  • You can turn your snack wreath into the shape of a letter.  At a big event you could write the words FUN or PARTY with the rosemary.
