Dessert in a Flash
This 5 minute dessert is perfect for midweek entertaining.
Dessert in a Flash

  • Prep Time: 5 minutes

  • Serves: 4

Ingredients

  • 4 heaped teaspoons SPAR medium or full roast filter coffee
  • 1,5 Litres SPAR vanilla ice cream
  • Whispers chocolate balls

Method

  1. Make up a fresh batch of strong filter coffee using 500 ml boiling water.
  2. Scoop ice cream balls into tall heatproof glasses.
  3. Pour over the hot coffee to approximately 1/4 of the glass.
  4. Sprinkle the sweets on top, and serve immediately with long handled spoons.
  • Add Irish whiskey or Kahlua liqueur to the brewed coffee before pouring over the ice cream.
  • Use a mixture of equal amounts of crushed peanut brittle and Crunchie chocolate, instead of Whispers.
  • Vary the concept for young children, replace the filter coffee with Horlicks, and sprinkle with Smarties or Astros.
