Junior Burgers

Junior Burgers
Make these delicious burgers and hide a piece of cheese in the middle and see how it melts!
Junior Burgers

  • Makes: 8 junior burgers

Ingredients

  • 500g SPAR Lean Beef Mince
  • 45 ml SPAR Freshline Flat Leaf Parsley, chopped
  • 15 ml SPAR Whole Grain Mustard
  • 1 SPAR Egg
  • 120 g SPAR Cheddar Cheese, cut into 8 small flat blocks
  • 8 SPAR Freshline Small Whole-wheat rolls
  • SPAR Freshline Lettuce, Tomato and Cucumber slices

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C.
  2. Mix the mince, parsley, mustard and egg in a bowl.  Mix well with a fork. 
  3. Divide the mixture into 8 equal pieces. Divide each piece in half and shape each half into a thin patty.  Place a block of cheese on top of one piece and top with another patty.  Mould the two patties around the cheese. Prepare all the burgers like this.
  4. Brush each burger with oil and arrange them on a baking sheet.
  5. Bake the burgers for 10 -15 minutes or until cooked through.
  6. Serve on bread rolls with lettuce and tomato.
  • You can use chicken mince for this recipe instead of beef.
