Reducing waste and supporting food security

We believe that safe, edible food should help feed people, not go to waste. Through our support for FoodForward SA, we help redirect food to beneficiary organisations that serve communities across the country.

In 2025, Encore, SPAR’s private label and wholesale division in South Africa, contributed R3 178 658 in SPAR private label food to FoodForward SA. The donation supported beneficiary organisations promoting sustainable economic access and income-generating activities.
