Mixed Berry & Chia Oat Smoothie Recipe

Recipe Ingredients

  • 1 banana
  • 15 ml chia seeds
  • 60 ml SPAR 100% Strawberry Juice
  • 125 ml SPAR Quick Cooking Oats
  • 250 g SPAR Frozen Mixed Berries
  • 125 ml SPAR Double Cream Yoghurt
  • 180 ml SPAR Coconut Milk
  • 5 - 15 ml SPAR Honey, to taste

Recipe Method

  1. Peel the banana and cut into pieces. Transfer to a small plastic bag and freeze.
  2. Soak the chia seeds in the strawberry juice for 10 minutes.
  3. Place the frozen banana, oats, berries, yoghurt,
  4. coconut milk and juice in a blender or processor. Blend until smooth and thick.
  5. Use honey to sweeten to your liking.
  6. Decorate with a scattering of oats and serve immediately.

Hints & Tips

Bananas freeze well and can be frozen in their skins for use at a later date in smoothies or for banana bread.
