  • 60ml SPAR oats
  • 1 SPAR egg
  • 30ml SPAR sunflower oil
  • 250g SPAR spaghetti
  • SPAR Freshline celery stalks
  • Small piece of a SPAR Freshline carrot
  • 2 - 4 SPAR stuffed olives
  • SPAR cheddar cheese, grated

Recipe Method

  1. Get mom to preheat the oven to 180°C.
  2. In a large bowl, using your hands, mix together the mince, Steak & Chop spice, oats and egg.
  3. Roll into balls the size of a golf ball.
  4. Arrange on a greased baking tray.  Brush with oil and place in the oven for 15 minutes or until cooked.
  5. With the help of an adult, boil the spaghetti in salted water until cooked.  Drain.
  6. To serve: Place the “branch”, a stick of celery, on the plate. Use braai tongs or a fork to twirl the spaghetti into a pile resembling a nest on the branch.
  7. Arrange the meatballs on top. Cut a small triangle of carrot for the beak.  Push it into the meatball.  Use two slices of olive for the eyes.  Sprinkle with grated cheddar cheese and serve.
