Pork Belly/Loin Ribs and Quick Pickle Slaw Recipe
SPAR Tender & Tasty Pork Belly or Loin Ribs cooked to melt-in-the-mouth perfection and served with a side of crunchy fresh pickle slaw.
Prep Time
15 minutes (plus 2 hours chill time)
Recipe Ingredients
- ½ cup (125ml) SPAR white wine vinegar
- 4 Tbsp (60ml) SPAR castor sugar
- 1 Tbsp (15ml) SPAR honey
- 1 teaspoon (5ml) salt
- 1 Freshline cucumber, sliced into half moons
- 2 Freshline Granny Smith apples, sliced into half moons
- 2 packs of SPAR Tender & Tasty Pork belly/Loin Ribs (Sweet and Sticky)
Salad
- Freshline value salad, shredded
- 4 Freshline spring onions, sliced
- 100g Freshline julienne carrots
- 2 Freshline avocados, sliced (optional)
Recipe Method
- Bring the vinegar, sugar, honey and salt to the boil and simmer for a few minutes.
- Remove from the heat. Allow to cool and when cold, pour over the cucumbers and apple.
- Refrigerate for 2 hours.
- Cook the ribs on the braai or in the oven according to the packaging’s instructions.
- Toss all the salad ingredients together, top with the pickle and juice and serve.
