Beef and Onion Stir Fry Recipe
Juicy strips of sirloin steak, drenched in a soy and black pepper marinade with crisp, seasonal veg and teryaki sauce.
Recipe Ingredients
For the Stir Fry
- 400g sirloin steak, cut into thin pieces
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- ½ teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1 tablespoon SPAR olive oil
- 2 SPAR Freshline onions, cut into wedges
- 1 SPAR Freshline red pepper, cut into thin slices
- 3 cups chopped mixed vegetables: broccoli, carrots, sugar snap peas
- 2 SPAR Freshline spring onions, chopped
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
For the Teriyaki Sauce
- 1/3 cup soy sauce
- ¼ cup water
- 2 tablespoons SPAR honey
- 1 tablespoon corn flour
- 1 tablespoon SPAR Freshline garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon SPAR Freshline ginger, minced
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
Recipe Method
- Marinade the beef in the soy sauce and black pepper.
- In a bowl, mix together the teriyaki sauce ingredients. Set aside.
- Heat a large pan over a medium heat. Add oil.
- Add the meat and brown until cooked through.
- Take out the pan and place into a bowl and set aside.
- Using the same pan cook all the vegetables until tender.
- Add the cooked beef and teriyaki sauce to the pan with the veggies. As the sauce thickens, stir in half of the spring onions and cook for another minute.
- Finish with a sprinkle of the sesame seeds and remaining spring onions.
