Egg Heart Breakfast
Start the day, the “Hearty Way” with a “Sunny Side Up” heart on the plate.
Egg Heart Breakfast

Ingredients

  • 4 SPAR Vienna Sausages (Red or Smoked)
  • 4 SPAR Eggs
  • 10 ml SPAR Sunflower Oil
  • 2 SPAR Freshline Tomatoes
  • 10 ml SPAR Sugar
  • 5 ml Mixed Dried Herbs
  • SPAR Toothpicks

Method

  1. Cut the sausage down the middle but not all the way through the end.
  2. Bend each side around to form a heart shape.  Use a toothpick to secure the pointed end of the heart while cooking.
  3. Heat oil in a non-stick frying pan and place the vienna heart in the middle.  Carefully crack the egg into the centre of the vienna heart.
  4. Fry until the egg is cooked to your liking. You can flip the heart if you prefer the egg well done.
  5. Cut the tomato into thick slices.  Sprinkle each slice with a little sugar and mixed herbs. Pan fry in the same pan for a minute or two on each side and serve with the egg.
