Espresso is a strong, black coffee concentrate made by forcing hot water through ground coffee. Espresso is enjoyed as a single or double shot. It is the base ingredient for all other coffee beverages.
Interesting fact: The caffeine content in an espresso is lower than filter coffee.
Tip: There is no “X” in espresso.

An Americano is simply a single or double shot of espresso topped up with hot water. You will get the rich flavour of espresso, but with less intensity. It originated during WW2 from American soldiers wanting a filter-style coffee from European espresso bars.

Cappuccino is a double espresso filled up with textured (frothed) milk with a centimetre of froth head on top. With more froth and less milk than a latte, it gives you a much stronger coffee flavour. This Italian drink is traditionally made with 1/3 espresso, 1/3 textured Milk and 1/3 foam.

Similar to cappuccino, a flat white is an espresso-based drink with milk and froth, except the milk is frothed with less texture. A flat white has a thinner head of foam and is served slightly cooler than a cappuccino.

Latte means milk. If you prefer a milder, milkier coffee, a latte is for you. Served in a taller glass, a latte is a double shot of espresso topped up with textured milk with a small amount of milk foam.
