Recipe Ingredients

  • 250ml Maltabella porridge, quick-method style
  • 1ml vanilla essence
  • 45g cinnamon sugar
  • 1 large banana, ripe, peeled, and sliced
  • ¼ cup mixed dried fruits and nuts
  • SPAR Crème Fraiche to taste

Recipe Method

  1. Following the pack’s instructions, cook a 4-portion batch of porridge, then add your vanilla essence and cinnamon sugar.
  2. Pour the porridge mixture to 1/3 level of each mug.
  3. Place your banana slices in each mug, pour another layer of porridge till 2/3 level.
  4. Sprinkle in your fruit and nut mix, then pour the last layer of porridge.
  5. Spoon a dollop of Crème Fraiche with another sprinkle of cinnamon sugar. Serve immediately.

Hints & Tips

Substitute with vanilla flavoured mielie meal porridge for an interesting twist.
Swop the banana for grated apple or canned pears for a sweet variation!
