Recipe Ingredients

  • 500g SPAR cake wheat flour
  • 15ml rosemary
  • 5ml SPAR sugar
  • 5ml SPAR salt
  • 10g dry yeast
  • 250ml lukewarm water
  • 125ml caramelised onion preserve
  • SPAR Freshline salad leaves
  • 200g SPAR Marksbury Brie Cheese, sliced
  • 2 SPAR Freshline pears, sliced
  • SPAR Extra Virgin olive oil, for drizzling

Recipe Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C.
  2. Mix the flour, rosemary, sugar, salt, and yeast together. Form a well in the centre and gradually add the lukewarm water, mixing until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough for about 5 minutes until smooth.
  4. Divide the dough into two portions and roll each out on a floured surface until thin and oval-shaped.
  5. Bake each oval in the oven for 5 to 8 minutes, or until they are crisp and bubbly.
  6. Once baked, spread caramelised onion preserve over the bread.
  7. Top with salad leaves, sliced Brie cheese, and pear slices.
  8. Drizzle with olive oil and a bit of lemon juice.
  9. Season with freshly ground black pepper and salt to taste.
