Zesty Steak Rub Recipe
Garlic, cumin, coriander and allspice combine to give your steaks that mouth watering flavour.
Recipe Ingredients
- 1 Tbsp SPAR Salt
- 1 Tsp SPAR Ground Black Pepper
- 1 Tbsp SPAR Brown Sugar
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 2 Tbsp cumin seeds
- 3 Tbsp coriander
- 1 tsp allspice powder
- 2 Tbsp vinegar or Worcestershire sauce
Recipe Method
- Toast the coriander and cumin seeds together until fragrant and leave to cool.
- Crush in a mortar and pestle until the seeds split open and break up.
- Place in a bowl, add all the rest of the ingredients and stir to combine.
- Store in an airtight container for up to 2 months.
- Pat the meat dry with a roller towel.
- Brush the meat with a little vinegar or Worcestershire sauce.
- Spoon the dry rub onto a saucer and press the meat into the spice.
- Make sure the spice covers all the meat.
- Leave for at least an hour or overnight in the fridge.
- Cook the meat to your liking, brushing with a little olive oil or butter as you cook.
