If you are trying to fall pregnant or are already, it is vital that you take a multivitamin and mineral supplement with sufficient FOLIC Acid.  Your supplement should contain at least 400 micrograms of Folic Acid.  This nutrient helps to prevent Spina Bifida in newborns.  Natural sources of Folic Acid include spinach, frilly lettuce, broccoli, fresh asparagus, avocado pears, potatoes, lean beef, egg yolk.  Most cereals are fortified with folic acid.
