Sweet Jaffles Recipe

For a sweet end to your braai, try these choc banana and blueberry cream cheese jaffles.

Recipe Ingredients

For chocolate and banana jaffle

  • 2 slices SPAR Freshline white bread
  • 1 teaspoon SPAR butter, melted
  • 2 teaspoon SPAR Squillos chocolate spread
  • 1 SPAR Freshline banana, sliced
 

For blueberry jaffle

  • 2 slices SPAR Freshline white bread
  • 1 teaspoon SPAR butter, melted
  • 3 teaspoon SPAR cream cheese
  • ¼ cup SPAR Freshline blueberries
  • 1 teaspoon SPAR honey

Recipe Method

  1. Make a good fire and prepare your coals.

For the chocolate banana jaffle

  1. Place the bread on a board and brush with melted butter.
  2. Turn the bread over and spread chocolate on both sides.
  3. Place banana on one side of the bread and top with the second slice making sure the chocolate faces inwards.
  4. Pre-heat the jaffle iron and then spray with non-stick spray.
  5.  Place the sandwich into the jaffle iron and close tightly.
  6.  Place on the hot coals and turn continuously until golden brown and crispy. 

For the blueberry jaffle

  1. Place the bread on a board and brush with melted butter.
  2. Turn the bread over and spread cream cheese on both sides.
  3. Place blueberries and honey on one side of the bread and top with the second slice making sure the cream cheese faces inwards.
  4. Pre-heat the jaffle iron and then spray with non-stick spray.
  5.  Place the sandwich into the jaffle iron and close tightly.
  6.  Place on the hot coals and turn continuously until golden brown and crispy.
