SPAR raises funds for charity and sets a GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ title!

21 September 2015

SPAR set a new GUINNESS WORLD RECORDSTM title for the Largest cupcake mosaic measuring 138,56m² in Durban on 05 September 2015.  The project started as an idea to raise funds and awareness for Cupcakes 4 Kids with Cancer.

The colourful design featured 33,660 cupcakes arranged to display the South African flag, cancer ribbon, the Springbok emblem and the “Go Bokke” message to show support for the Springboks in the Rugby World Cup.

After the event, the cupcakes were donated to a number of local community organizations and schools for everyone to enjoy.
More than R175,000 was raised for Cupcakes 4 Kids with Cancer.  This great achievement was a result of the teamwork of SPAR staff, their families, individuals and suppliers who made it all possible.
