The popular SPAR Tussen die Sterre concert once again wowed the audience with a star-studded line-up at the AmfiArena in Paarl this December, a pre-Christmas treat with friends and family.

The evergreen boy band ADAM, rocker Francois van Coke, and, in a class of her own, the inimitable Karen Zoid set the stars alight.

The concert also helped put a smile on a child’s face. Proceeds from the event were donated to Operation Smile South Africa. Operation Smile is a global NPO that provides free reconstructive surgery to children born with cleft lips or palates.

Robert Brink, Advertising and Promotions manager for SPAR Western Cape, handed a cheque of R 75 000 to Simone de Wet, Country Manager for Operation Smile South Africa.

“What a privilege to be in such a fabulous setting. SPAR is a caring brand and our stores are very involved in the communities they serve. It’s good to know that this event will also put a smile on a child’s face,” he commented, when handing over the cheque.

This is the sixth year that SPAR, along with media partners Smile 90.4fm, Boland Media and Tyger-Burger, has hosted this event.
