Steak Sarnie Recipe
Tender steak cooked with BBQ and Moroccan smoky spices paired with roasted peppers and slow cooked onions on toasted rolls. It doesn’t get better than that!
Recipe Ingredients
- ½ cup SPAR BBQ Sauce
- 2 Tbsp (30ml) Moroccan Spices
- Seasoning
- 4 SPAR Tender & Tasty Tenderised Steaks
- 190g The FOOD STALL Hummus
- 100g SPAR Freshline Heart Lettuce, shredded
- SPAR Bakery Rolls, toasted
Roasted Veg
- 2 SPAR Freshline Red Peppers, quartered and deseeded
- 2 SPAR Freshline Onions, finely sliced
- 1 Tbsp (15ml) SPAR Olive Oil
- 1 Tbsp (15ml) SPAR Butter
- 1 Tbsp (15ml) SPAR Brown Sugar
Recipe Method
- Mix the marinade and Moroccan spices together,
- Season the steak, brush with marinade and sear in a pan or braai over hot coals.
- Roast the peppers in the oven for 20 minutes at 200º C or until soft.
- Caramelise the onions in the olive oil, butter and sugar over a low heat until soft and sticky.
- Spread the rolls with hummus and a pile of the shredded lettuce and roasted peppers.
- Cut the steak into slices and place on top and add the onion.
- Serve immediately.
