Recipe for Festive Pear and Blue Cheese Pastry Puff

Ingredients(10+)

  • One pack of thawed puff pastry
  • Fresh pear, (or well drained, canned SPAR pear halves, thinly sliced)
  • SPAR Marksbury Select Brie or Blue Stilton Cheese
  • Grated cheddar and mozzarella cheeses
  • Walnuts
  • SPAR Cranberries

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 220 °C
  2. Unravel the thawed puff pastry onto a greaseproof paper lined baking tin.
  3. Loosely arrange a single layer of very thin slivers of the pear.
  4. Cover with a light sprinkle of cheeses
  5. Sprinkle with walnuts and SPAR Cranberries.
  6. Bake immediately  for 12 minutes.
  7. Transfer onto a large wooden board and provide a pizza wheel for guests to cut off squares for themselves. Enjoy freshly baked and warm.

Prep Time:

SNACK 1 AT 7pm

Assorted SPAR savoury crisps and biscuits eg Rice crackers, Tortitas, Shells, Onion rings, served surrounding a few tubs of the convenient ready-made SPAR Dip range.

SNACK 2 at 8 pm

SPAR Freshline cocktail croissants oven-warmed, split and filled with a slice of salami, and SPAR Olive and Feta low fat Cream Cheese (or smoked chicken slices with SPAR Sweet Chilli low fat Cream Cheese) .  Alternatively, top with the same choice of meat and cream cheese, but onto SPAR Freshline Cocktail Pita Breads.

SNACK 3 at 9pm

Thread onto toothpicks or short satay skewers in alternating fashion: SPAR Feta cheese cubes, SPAR Freshline Cherry Tomatoes and a fresh sweet basil leaf, for a Caprice salad concept.

SNACK 4 at 10 pm

Cocktail hotdog rolls split and filled with warmed SPAR Cocktail Vienna; squiggles of SPAR Tomato Sauce or SPAR Mustard Sauce down the length of each sausage to complete.

SNACK 5 at 11pm

Bring out your Festive Pear and Blue Cheese Pastry Puff.

DESSERT DRINK 1 at 11.30pm
