Seafood Chowder Recipe
This dish consists of a variety of different seafoods, e.g. calamari, fish, mussels, shrimp and crab flavoured sticks.
Recipe Ingredients
- 800 g SPAR Seafood Mix
- 350 g SPAR Prawn Tails
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 1 pepper, finely chopped
- 1 green chilli, finely chopped
- 1 punnet (250 g) mushrooms, sliced
- SPAR Sunflower Oil, for frying
- 1 tsp thyme
- 1 tsp crushed ginger
- 1 tsp crushed garlic
- ½ tsp black pepper
- ½ tsp turmeric powder
- 4 tbsp fish sauce
- 1 tsp fish spice
- 1 x 120 g SPAR Tomato Paste
- 1 x 400 ml can SPAR Coconut milk
- 250 ml cream
- Cornflour to thicken
Recipe Method
- Pan fry the onions, peppers, chilli and mushrooms for about 3 minutes in a little oil.
- Add thyme, ginger, garlic, black pepper, turmeric powder and fish sauce. Cook for another 3-4 minutes, stirring all the time.
- Add the SPAR SEAFOOD MIX, SPAR PRAWN TAILS and the fish spice, stir for 1 minute. Then add tomato paste and coconut milk. Allow to cook for 8-10 minutes.
- Add cream, stir for about 1 minute, just to warm through. If the sauce is too thin, add cornflour mixed with cream to thicken.
Hints & Tips
This dish can be served with SPAR Basmati Rice or over SPAR Spirale Pasta.
