SPAR KZN shares the festive joy at the Gozololo Centre

19 January 2022

The future of any nation lies in its young, and caring for them today means caring for our future. This goes for all children, especially those who find themselves without families.

And because SPAR is all about communities, we rolled up our sleeves and decided to add smiles to little ones in the care of Gozololo Centre For Children.

SPAR KZN dropped by to spread the Christmas cheer. To end off another successful year of working together, we donated food parcels and Lego toys to add smiles to the children’s faces. Gozololo is an isiZulu word meaning “stay awhile” and while these little ones stay awhile, they are cared for and given love that they would ordinarily not get due to societal problems.

One of the reasons we partnered with Gozololo is the fact that Mam’ Cele, the founder, has strong community values. Her mission for Gozololo is to implement and manage sustainable community-based childcare centres that will ease the pain and suffering inflicted on children who are vulnerable, mostly because of the breakdown of the core family unit.

It is because of people like Mam’ Cele that we are able to live out our purpose of being part of the community. Look out for a centre in your neighbourhood. Visit: https://www.gozololochildren.org/about_us
