5.  How to Enter 
• Customers need to purchase any one (1) qualifying SPAR Polony participating product at a participating SUPERSPAR store during the Competition Period; and swipe their valid SPAR Rewards Card at the point of sale at the time of purchase.
• Entry is automatic upon swiping the SPAR Rewards Card with a qualifying purchase. No manual entry is required.
• A qualifying till slip confirming competition entry will be printed at the point of sale. The slip will indicate the number of times the customer has been entered into the competition.
• Each qualifying participating SPAR Polony product purchased with an accompanying swipe of your SPAR Rewards card is a single entry into the competition. Buying multiple participating products will give you automatic multiple entries.
• There is no limit to the number of entries per customer, but a customer can only be entitled to win 1 (one) of the 6 (six) VW Polo’s.
• All 6 (six) potential winners for each region must be in the possession of a valid South African driver’s licence.

6.  What prizes can be won? 
• There are 6 (six) VW Polo Vivo (2026 model) vehicles to be won, each with an approximate retail value of R275,199.98 (inclusive of VAT). The prize vehicles are brand new. 
• 1 (one) VW Polo will be allocated to each SPAR region.
• Prizes are not transferable, exchangeable, or redeemable for cash or any other products or services.
• The Promoter and Co-Promoter reserve the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value should the specified prize become unavailable.

7.  How is a winner(s) selected? 
• The draw will take place within a period of 60 days after the end of the Competition Period.
• Finalists will be selected by random draw from all valid entries received from participating SUPERSPAR stores during the Competition Period.
• The draw will be conducted in a manner that ensures fairness and randomness, and will be overseen by an independent third party appointed by the Promoter and Co-Promoter.
• 6 (six) finalists will be drawn randomly from each SPAR region. All finalists for a given region will be randomly drawn from a single participating SUPERSPAR store: the SUPERSPAR store associated with the first finalist drawn will be the store from which all remaining finalists for that region are also drawn.
• This mechanism ensures that the final selection event is conducted under uniform conditions, at a single venue, and under independent supervision, while maintaining a random and fair selection process across all eligible entries within the region.

8.  How will winners know they have won? 
• All finalists will only be contacted and notified by a SPAR representative using the contact details linked to their SPAR Rewards card provided by The SPAR Group Limited.
• If a finalist cannot be contacted within five (5) business days of the first contact attempt, or if a prize is unclaimed, the Promoter and/or Co-Promoter reserve the right to select an alternative finalist by repeating the random draw process.

9.  How are prizes delivered/collected? 
• All 6 (six) VW Polos will be delivered to the respective region and participating SUPERSPAR store at which the finalists were drawn from.
• The 6 (six) potential finalists will need to be physically present in the respective region and at the specific SUPERSPAR store from which they were drawn as finalists on a pre-communicated date and time.
• Each finalist who is present will pick a random SPAR product hamper. The event will proceed with however many of the 6 (six) finalists are present on the day.
• 1 (one) of the hampers presented to the finalists will contain the keys to a VW Polo. The finalist who finds the key in their hamper will be the winner of the VW Polo for their respective region.
• The final winner selection process will be conducted in a random and auditable manner under independent supervision to ensure compliance with applicable promotional competition laws.

10.  How long do winners have to claim their prize? 
All prize handovers are to take place during the month of October 2026. Participants will be notified prior to the draw and will be required to be physically present at the participating SUPERSPAR store from which they were drawn as a finalist, on the pre-communicated date and time for prize unveiling, in order to qualify for the prize.

13.  Who can participants contact about their rights as a consumer? 
Participants can:
• Contact SPAR Customer Care Line: 0800 079 610
• For South Africa - the National Consumer Commission (NCC) in South Africa for assistance with their rights as consumers. The NCC is responsible for enforcing the Consumer Protection Act and handling consumer complaints.

Participation in the promotional competition constitutes acceptance of the promotional competition rules and participants agree to abide by the competition terms and conditions (Terms).

Please note that the Terms in bold require you to take on risk, limit the liability of the Promoter and Co-Promoter and indemnify the Promoter and Co-Promoter and are specifically drawn to your attention. Please read them carefully and contact the Promoter and/or Co-promoter if you have any questions. 

COMPETITION TERMS AND CONDITIONS

1. The Promoter is as described in item 3 of the Competition Information Schedule (Schedule)

2. The Co-Promoter is as described in item 4 of the Schedule.

3. The participant (Participant) is a person who complies with the entry requirements of this Competition.

4. The Competition runs for the duration set out in item 2 of the Schedule. Any entries received after the closing date will not be considered. 

5. Participation 
To qualify Participants must comply with the entry requirements in item 5 of the Schedule.

6. Prizes
Participants who:
6.1. are eligible to enter in terms of clause 7;
6.2. meet the entry requirements in item 5 of the Schedule; and
6.3. enter the Competition in accordance with these terms and conditions 
stand a chance to win the prizes in item 6 of the Schedule.

7. Who may enter?
The Competition is open to customers who make a qualifying purchase at a participating SUPERSPAR store and who are citizens of South Africa (in possession of a valid identification document), who are 18 years of age or over, except for the members, shareholders, directors, employees, partners, agents and consultants (and their respective life partners, business partners and immediate families) of:
7.1. the Promoter, the Co-Promoter, the SPAR Guild of Southern Africa NPC and the Build it Guild of Southern Africa NPC; and
7.2. members of the SPAR Guild of Southern Africa NPC and the Build it Guild of Southern Africa NPC; and
7.3. the suppliers of the Promoter and/or Co-Promoter which supply the Prizes or any products that Participants must purchase to participate in the Competition.
In addition to the above, to be eligible to receive a prize, a potential winner must be in possession of a valid South African driver's licence at the time of prize handover. A potential winner who does not hold a valid South African driver's licence at the time of prize handover will be disqualified and an alternative winner will be drawn from the relevant region's valid entries.

8. How to enter
To enter the Competition the Participant must follow the process(s) set out in item 5 of the Schedule.

9. Award and delivery of Prizes
9.1. A winner will be selected in the manner set out in item 7 of the Schedule.
9.2. A winner will be contacted in the method set out in item 8 of the Schedule.
9.3. Winners must present proof of identity (in the form of a valid Green ID Book or ID Card issued by Home Affairs- for South Africa) and valid driver’s license. 
9.4. Prizes may not be transferred or exchanged for cash or for any other goods or services.
9.5. Failure to claim a Prize or a refusal or inability to comply with the requirements of these terms and conditions within the period in item 10 of the Schedule will disqualify the winner and a new winner will be drawn in their place at the sole discretion of the Promoter and Co-Promoter.

10. Publication of names and images
10.1. The names of the winners will be published on the website listed in the Schedule and on the Promoter's official social media platforms, once the winners have been validated and verified. The Participant, accordingly, by participating in this Competition, provides their consent to supply their personal information for the aforesaid purposes as contemplated in terms of the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA) and any other applicable law. 
10.2. The winners’ names will also be featured in national press advertisements after the competition has ended and, in this regard, the Participant will be required to sign further documents as may be reasonably requested by the Promoter and/or Co-Promoter for the aforesaid purposes prior to any publication. However, the Participant may opt to decline their participation in such advertisements. If the Participant opts to participate in such advertisement, they shall have no claim to any compensation or payment in respect of their name and/or images.
10.3. By accepting the Prize, the winners of the Competition agree that the Promoter and/or Co-Promoter may use their names and pictures for any future marketing material by the Promoter and/or Co-Promoter in print and digital media and in this regard, the winner will be required to sign further documents as may be reasonably requested by the Promoter and/or Co-Promoter for the aforesaid purposes prior to any publication. However, the Participant may opt to decline their participation in such marketing material. If the Participant opts to participate in such marketing material, they shall have no claim to any compensation or payment in respect of their name and/or images.

11. Binding nature of these rules
11.1. By participating or entering this Competition, Participants will be deemed to have accepted and be bound by these rules which will be interpreted and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of South Africa. All information relating to this Competition and published on any promotional material will form part of the terms and conditions of entry.
11.2. To the fullest extent permitted by law, and subject to section 51 of the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008, neither the Promoter, Co-Promoter, their associated companies, nor any directors, officers or employees of such nor their partners or agents supporting the Competition shall be responsible for any loss, damage or injury whatsoever suffered by any Participant/entrant or winner or their accompanying person(s) (including but not limited to any direct, indirect, consequential, special, punitive or incidental loss or damages) or for any personal injury (whether physical or mental) suffered or sustained by any Participant/entrant or winner and/or their accompanying person(s) as a result of or in connection with the Competition or the acceptance, use or application of the Prize. Notwithstanding anything to the contrary in these Terms, nothing in these Terms limits or excludes the liability of the Promoter or Co-Promoter for death or personal injury, for loss attributable to their gross negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 or any other applicable law.
11.3. The Promoter and/or Co-Promoter shall not be responsible for entries lost, damaged or delayed as a result of any network, computer or cell phone hardware or software failure of any kind. 

11.4. The Promoter and/or the Co-Promoter reserve the right to disqualify any claim if fraud or cheating is suspected, including without limitation, through the manipulation of code or otherwise frequently falsifying data. 
11.5. The Promoter and/or Co-promoter shall have the right to change or terminate the promotional competition immediately and without notice, if deemed necessary in their opinion and if circumstances arise outside of their control. In the event of such change or termination, all Participants agree to waive any rights that they have in respect of this promotional competition and acknowledge that they will have no recourse against the Promoter and/or Co-Promoter or their agents. 
11.6. If the Prize is not available despite the Promoter and/or Co-Promoter’s reasonable endeavours to procure the Prize, the Promoter and/or Co-Promoter reserves the right to substitute the Prize of equal or greater value.
11.7. Prize-related costs: The Promoter and Co-Promoter will bear the cost of delivering the prize vehicle to the relevant regional SUPERSPAR store. The Co-Promoter will bear the costs of vehicle registration and licensing fees in respect of the prize vehicle. All other costs arising after handover of the prize to the winner, including but not limited to motor vehicle insurance, fuel, maintenance, and any applicable taxes or duties, are for the winner’s sole account. Winners are advised to seek independent financial and tax advice regarding the implications of receiving a prize of this nature.
11.8. To the extent permitted by applicable law, the Promoter and/or Co-Promoter do not make any representation or give any warranties, whether expressly or implicitly as to a Prize, and in particular, without limitation, make no representations and give no warranty that the prize, or any aspect thereof, will meet the Participant’s requirements, preferences, standards or expectations.
11.9. If a dispute arises in relation to the interpretation of the Competition and/or its terms and conditions, the Promoter’s decision shall be final and binding, and no correspondence shall be entered into, save that nothing in this clause limits any Participant’s right to refer a complaint to the National Consumer Commission or any other body or court of competent jurisdiction as contemplated in item 13 of the Schedule.
11.10. If any of the terms and conditions contained herein are found to be invalid, unlawful or unenforceable, such terms will be severable from the remaining terms of these terms and conditions, which will continue to be valid and enforceable.
11.11. In your interest, the Promoter and/or Co-Promoter have done everything reasonably practicable to comply with all the relevant laws that they are subject to. In terms of POPIA, the Promoter and Co-Promoter comply with industry standards when it comes to the collection, storage and protection of your personal information. 11.12. By entering this Competition, Participants agree to receive future marketing material from the brands on promotion. However, a Participant has the right to unsubscribe from receiving marketing material at any time, or to request the Promoter to delete their personal information, by contacting the customer care line in item 13 of the Schedule.
11.13. The Promoter and Co-Promoter will be responsible for only those costs which these terms and conditions expressly state that the Promoter and Co-Promoter will pay.
11.14. The Promoter and/or Co-Promoter shall not be responsible for any lost, damaged, delayed, incorrect or incomplete entries for any reason whatsoever (including, without limitation, as a result of any network, computer or cell phone hardware or software failure of any kind). Proof of sending will not be accepted as proof of receipt. The Promoter and/or Co-Promoter shall not be responsible for the failure of any technical element relating to this Promotion that may result in an entry not being successfully submitted.
11.15. Each Participant indemnifies and holds harmless the Promoter, the Co-Promoter, their associated companies and their respective directors, officers, employees and agents against any claim, loss, liability, cost or expense arising from or in connection with that Participant’s entry into or participation in the Competition, or that Participant’s acceptance, possession or use of any Prize, save to the extent that such claim, loss, liability, cost or expense is attributable to the gross negligence or wilful misconduct of the Promoter or Co-Promoter or otherwise cannot lawfully be the subject of an indemnity under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 or any other applicable law
