Milkshake Melody Recipe

Milkshakes appeal to all ages. Try a different flavour each time, for a dessert the whole family can enjoy on a warm summer’s day.

Recipe Ingredients

  • 500 ml SPAR Classic Vanilla flavoured ice cream
  • 500 ml SPAR full cream fresh milk

Recipe Method

  1. Combine both ingredients in a food blender or processor, or use a suitable jug and a stick hand-held blender if this suits you better.
  2. Whizz until foamy, creamy and thick. Beat in the flavouring ingredients of choice thoroughly.  Pour into tumblers and serve immediately.

Hints & Tips

For a double-thick milkshake, use 1 litre ice cream with just a dash of milk.
Delicious flavour-combos for this above amount:
  • 80 ml hazelnut chocolate spread and 50 ml bottled toffee sauce
  • 1 well mashed banana and 30 ml SPAR instant coffee mixed with 15 ml hot water.
  • 125 ml SPAR vanilla custard and 50 ml Squillos strawberry flavoured milk powder 
If you want more of a Fruit Whip type drink, introduce fresh chopped fruits that puree easily too eg most berries, paw-paw into the basic ice cream mix.
