Hawaiian Roll

A ready made Swiss roll filled with a creamy pineapple mix makes for a memorable but easy to prepare dessert.

Ingredients

  • 1 SPAR Freshline plain Swiss-roll
  • 1 small fresh pineapple
  • 50 ml SPAR brown sugar
  • 150 ml tub SPAR honey double cream yoghurt, stirred to combine
  • 150 g tub SPAR low fat Plain cream cheese

Method

1. Peel and finely chop the pineapple. Sprinkle over the sugar and set aside in the fridge for 20 minutes.
2. Gently combine with the yoghurt and cream cheese.
3. Carefully unravel the Swiss-roll.
4. Spread the filling across the flat, open Swiss-roll, and re-roll it firmly.
5. Wrap securely in cling-film and chill until required for slicing.

Hints & Tips

Using an electric carving knife to slice the roll, provides neat, uniform slices.
Use within a day of preparing the roll to prevent it becoming soggy.
Recommended accompaniment: SPAR vanilla ice cream scoops, rolled in toasted coconut. Alternatively, just stir the toasted coconut into the ice cream.
