Fig, Blue Cheese and Honey Tartines Recipe

Tangy blue cheese topped with caramelised figs and honey on a crisp baguette. An easy but elegant mid-morning or tea time snack.

Makes 8 slices

Recipe Ingredients

  • 8 x slices of a French baguette
  • butter (for spreading)
  • 4 x large ripe figs
  • 3 Tbsp (45 ml) SPAR Honey
  • 100 g SPAR Marksbury Select blue cheese, sliced into 16 thin slices
  • several sprigs of fresh rosemary
  • salt and freshly milled pepper

Recipe Method

  1. Spread the baguette with butter and toast in a hot pan until golden on both sides.
  2. Fry the figs and rosemary in the honey until golden and bubbly (for 8 minutes).
  3. Top the toasts with the figs and cheese and place under the grill for 5 minutes, or until golden and caramelised.
  4. Serve with a crack of salt and pepper
