Coriander and Lime Fishcakes Recipe

You'll love the fresh flavours of these hake and potato fishcakes flavoured with fresh coriander, lime and spring onions.

Makes 12 small fishcakes

Recipe Ingredients

  • 500g SPAR Prime Hake fillets, cooked as per packet instructions, skin off and roughly chopped
  • 2 SPAR Freshline potatoes, grated
  • ¼ cup (60ml) SPAR cake wheat flour
  • Finely grated rind of a SPAR Freshline lime
  • A handful fresh SPAR Freshline coriander, chopped
  • 2 SPAR Freshline spring onions, chopped
  • Salt and milled pepper
  • SPAR Olive Oil for shallow frying


  • ½ cup (125ml) SPAR mayonnaise
  • A handful SPAR Freshline herbs like basil, parsley and dill, finely chopped
  • Drizzle of SPAR olive oil

Recipe Method

  1. Mix all the ingredients for the fish cakes together well.
  2. Leave to sit in the fridge for 15 minutes.
  3. Shape into little patties about 5cm x 2cm.
  4. Heat 1–2cm deep vegetable oil in a pan.
  5. Fry the patties in batches until the fish cakes are golden brown.
  6. Mix the sauce ingredients together.
  7. Serve with a fresh green salad.
