Recipe Ingredients

500 ml SPAR vanilla custard

3 large eggs, separated

3 ml almond essence

SPAR orange marmalade
Recipe Method

Preheat oven to 180 º C.

Blend egg yolks, essence and custard together lightly.

Whisk egg whites in a separate SPAR Good Living medium porcelain mixing bowl until stiff peaks form. Fold gently into the custard mixture. Pour into a medium size deep ovenproof dish and bake for 30 minutes.

Allow to cool slightly to firm up before serving.

Gently warm the marmalade, and serve as a sauce poured over each portion.
Hints & Tips
The beating of the egg whites to the correct stage, and immediate baking once mixed, is important for the ability of the mixture to set and hold the custard successfully.
