Avocado Chocolate Mousse Recipe

A healthier alternative to traditional chocolate mousse that's still rich, creamy and indulgent.

Recipe Ingredients

  • 2 SPAR Freshline Avocados
  • 1 slab (100g) dark chocolate, melted and slightly cooled (shave off some curls using a veg peeler prior to melting)
  • 1⁄3 cup (25g) SPAR cocoa powder
  • 1⁄4 cup SPAR honey
  • 1⁄2 tsp ground cinnamon, plus extra for garnish 
  • Chocolate curls to serve

Recipe Method

  1. Slice and carefully remove the pip and peel from the avocados. 
  2. In a food processor (or with an electric whisk), blend the avocados, melted chocolate, cocoa powder, honey and cinnamon. Using a spatula, scrape down the sides and blend until fully incorporated and smooth.
  3. Transfer the mixture to a piping bag (or plastic resealable bag) with a round nozzle. Neatly pipe the chocolate mousse into 4 dessert glasses and refrigerate for 1 hour or until chilled. 
  4. Once the mousse has chilled, dust lightly with ground cinnamon and add a sprinkle of chocolate curls.
