Mushroom Sauce Recipe

Give your burgers and steaks some extra flavour with this simple but delicious mushroom sauce.

Recipe Ingredients

  • 1 large SPAR Freshline onion
  • 1 tsp SPAR butter
  • 250 g SPAR Freshline brown mushrooms
  • 125 ml Sherry
  • 1 TBS beef stock powder (not diluted)
  • 1 TBS SPAR Cake Wheat flour
  • 250 ml cream
  • Salt
  • Pepper

Recipe Method

  1. Dice the onion.  Add butter and onion to a large frying pan over a medium heat.
  2. Chop the mushrooms into small pieces and add to the pan once the onion has become translucent. Stir the mixture
  3. Add the sherry to the pan and cook off the liquid
  4. Sprinkle the flour and beef stock powder into the pan and keep stirring
  5. Stir in the cream
  6. Season with salt and pepper
