Moroccan Avocado Hummus Recipe

Combine the nutty, savoury, spicy flavours of hummus with some creamy avo for a dip sensation.

Recipe Ingredients

  • 2 can chickpeas, drained (reserve liquid)
  • 2 medium ripe SPAR Freshline avocados, roughly chopped
  • 1 SPAR Freshline lime, juice and zest
  • 1 clove SPAR Freshline garlic
  • 3 tablespoon SPAR Double Cream Plain Yogurt (or Greek yoghurt)
  • 2 teaspoon tahini
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper

Recipe Method

  1. In a large food processor, add chickpeas, avocados, lime, garlic, yogurt, tahini, cumin, salt, pepper and cayenne. 
  2. Blend until the mixture is smooth.
  3. If it's too thick add chickpea liquid and blend again until creamy.
  4. Place in the fridge, covered, to chill.
  5. When ready to serve, stir and drizzle with olive oil and garnish with fresh herbs.
