The festive season is about being close to loved ones, full bellies, Christmas cheer and magical wonder.
 
But for some it isn't as merry, so we decided to do something about it. Ingane Yami Children's Village is an orphanage providing Eshowe children with the opportunity to have a safe and loving environment.
 
So, SUPERSPAR Richdens stepped in to brighten the day and made things a little merrier by sponsoring the Ingane Yami Children's Village's Christmas Family Day on November 6th, 2021.
 
The goal of the event was to produce a pleasant, family-oriented event that would entice people from the community to come and experience what Ingane Yami is all about! There were entertaining craft stalls, games, jumping castles, and even a puppet show; the result was an amazing sense of excitement from every child who attended! We had around one hundred families (300 individuals) pass through our doors, precisely as we had planned; everyone enthused about how lovely Ingane Yami Children’s Village is and how grateful they are to have such a beacon of hope in their community.
 
Caring for our people is at the centre of what we do, therefore SPAR is doing everything we can to ensure that this is the case in the long-term. We are committed to playing a key role in our communities, guided by our purpose, to be more than just food in every neighbourhood.
