Dates Announced for SPAR KZN Schoolgirls Fast 5's Netball Challenge

Launching into its fifth year, the SPAR KZN Schoolgirls’ Fast 5’s Netball Challenge is set to tip off in August with eight tournaments around the province with 100 teams participating this year.
The first tournament heads to Empangeni High School for the North Coast Regional, taking place on Saturday 2 August. Thirteen teams will be taking to the court in Empangeni, including defending champions, Hoërskool Richardsbaai. Southcity Christian School plays host for the second tournament, the South Coast Regional. Southcity welcomes 11 teams from along the south coast on Saturday 16 August, including three times winner, Kingsway High School.
Heading further afield, the Southern KZN Regional tournament is hosted by King Edward High School on Saturday 23 August where Shayamoya Area Secondary School will be taking on another ten schools in the hopes of defending their title to win it for the third time. Wrapping up the August regionals, the picturesque inner city setting of St Henry’s Marist College welcomes Durban Central teams on Saturday 30 August. Hoping to defend their title on their home courts, they will welcome 12 local schools on the day.
The September calendar kicks off at Curro Hillcrest for the Highway Regional on Saturday 6 September. Hillcrest High School will be hoping to remain on top of the leaderboard as they take on the hosts, and ten other schools from the surrounding areas. Curro Salt Rock welcomes teams on the following weekend for the Durban North Regional. 13 teams will converge in Salt Rock on Saturday 13 September where Our Lady of Fatima will be hoping for an easier ride to the top. Fatima and Curro Salt Rock hold the record currently of being the only final to go into extra time.
At the final outlying tournament, Amajuba High School will host the teams for the Northern KZN Regional on Saturday 20 September. Defending champs, Hoërskool Pionier, together with ten other schools will take on the spirited hosts, Amajuba. Concluding the 2025 regional games, fifteen teams will make their way to Pietermaritzburg Girls’ High School. Lining up in the biggest regional, Edendale Technical High School will hope to defend their title successfully on Saturday 27 September.
Following the success of the SPAR KZN Schoolgirls’ Hockey Tournament that is celebrating its 15th year since it inception, SPAR KZN is grateful to see their netball challenge growing substantially since its first challenge with four regionals in 2019.
