Creamy Garlic Potatoes Recipe

Baby potatoes smothered with a rich cream and garlic sauce.

Recipe Ingredients

  • 1kg SPAR Freshline baby potatoes
  • 2 tablespoons SPAR olive oil
  • 1 large SPAR Freshline onion, finely chopped
  • 1 clove SPAR Freshline garlic, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon SPAR Cake Wheat flour
  • 2 cups SPAR cream
  • Salt & pepper, to taste
  • 1/8 cup SPAR Freshline coriander, finely chopped
  • 1/8 cup SPAR Freshline parsley, finely chopped

Recipe Method

  1. In a large pot, boil salted water.
  2. Bring to a gentle boil then reduce to medium heat.
  3. Add the potatoes and cook until soft.
  4. Drain water and set the potatoes aside.   
  5. In a large pan, heat the olive oil on a medium heat.
  6. Add the onion and cook for +- 5 minutes until translucent. 
  7. Add the garlic and cook for 1 minute.
  8. Sprinkle flour over the onion and garlic and stir until combined.
  9. Pour in cream, stir continuously, and bring to a gentle boil.
  10. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  11. Add the potatoes to the creamy sauce in the pan and combine well.
  12. Garnish with fresh coriander and parsley.
